So maybe now is the time to think about winterising?
Over the next few months the rules about how often you will have to move will be posted on the Canal and River Trust website and also a list of what parts of the water ways are like to close.

When do short stay mooring(s) change to 14 day(s)?
During the winter most short-stay moorings revert to 14 days from 1 November until 31st March unless signed otherwise. Please do check the signs carefully as busy short-stay moorings remain time restricted all year round.
